Heather Stewart
Voice & Piano Instructor
Heather is a classically trained vocalist and pianist with over 18 years of musical training and performance experience. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin's Butler School of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in music, concentrating in Music and Media, alongside a minor in French. Her musical background includes participation in a variety of choirs, musical theater productions, songwriting, film scoring, and digital music production. While her foundation is rooted in classical training, Heather has a deep appreciation for contemporary music and believes that blending classical technique with modern artistry creates music that transcends genre and time.
Heather specializes in teaching voice and piano to children, beginners, and intermediate musicians. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring their abilities while building confidence in their musicianship. She believes that every student deserves a space where they can express themselves freely, take risks, and grow at their own pace.
Her lessons emphasize strong musical fundamentals while connecting those skills to real-world musical expression across a variety of genres and styles. Whether a student is learning their first song, developing healthy vocal technique, or discovering the joy of playing piano, Heather provides patient, thoughtful guidance tailored to each individual's goals and learning style. Heather is dedicated to fostering a communicative, positive, and supportive learning environment that empowers students to develop not only their musical abilities but also the confidence, creativity, and self-expression that extend far beyond the classroom.
Outside of teaching and music, Heather loves painting, cooking, hiking, gardening, reading, and playing video games. She's extremely outgoing and always excited to try a new restaurant, discover new hobbies, or explore a new part of the city. When she's not working or exploring, you'll most likely find her at home with her beloved cat, Bayou.
